Meet PaulI feel very fortunate to have called our riding home for almost 40 years, and now my wife and I are raising our family here. We have a 2 year old son and have just welcomed our daughter to the world this March of 2024!
All of us are fortunate to live in this riding and to live in Canada. However, I believe our country and our region are facing more challenges than at any point in the past 40 years. This is why my wife and I are stepping forward to serve our community. Many people genuinely cannot afford to live in the lower mainland anymore. The level of unaffordability is to the point where it is common for young people and young families to either move away, have fewer kids than they hoped, or to even question whether they should have kids at all. Many have also completely given up on their dream of owning their own home. Lately things have gotten even worse, with high inflation and interest rates pushing many households to the brink. This is not the Canada we want our kids to grow up in. |
Together we can help Pierre Poilievre win the next election and put Canada back on track. We are excited and thankful for Pierre Poilievre’s leadership on the issues of inflation, interest rates, cost of living and cost of housing. We feel Pierre is the only leader of any party that has consistently spoken about these issues with understanding, honesty and strength. We feel he is also the only leader who is genuinely looking out for the future of young people and young families right now.
When you listen to Pierre speak, it is clear he truly understands economics and how our economy functions. Equally important, you can tell he genuinely cares about everyday Canadians and his focus is on making our economy work for all Canadians, so we can all prosper and have a great future. My background is in Economics and I work as a Business Consultant, supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses. I know first-hand how the levels of regulation, taxation and government spending impact our businesses, the workers that earn their living there, and our economy overall. I stand for free markets, lower taxes and responsible government spending to get inflation and interest rates back down to sustainable levels. |
The Liberals and NDP think that they can take on massive debt and then spend their way to an economy that works for everyone. This is simply not true. The past several years have shown that too much government spending and debt leads to inflation. Then, that inflation leads to higher interest rates. Now groceries, gas, mortgages and rent are at their most unaffordable levels ever in Canadian history. That means the irresponsible spending and debt taken on by the Liberals and NDP is directly causing Canadians to experience genuine hardship today. As a result, the Liberals and NDP need to be held accountable.
The way to create a Canada that works for everyone and where we can all prosper, is to have a strong economy with good paying jobs through less regulation, more opportunity and lower taxes. It is also crucial that we reduce government spending and debt so that inflation and interest rates return to sustainable levels. Then, we must focus on implementing effective policies to lower the cost of living and the cost of housing in Canada. That is what will allow people to live the life they hope for, and this is exactly the vision and platform Pierre Poilievre is offering Canadians in the next election.
